"Domenico Ronca is an artist by vocation and, like all genuine artists, has entrusted art with his destiny and his own intellectual, spiritual and material well-being. The themes of his works are the most varied depending on whether they are the fruit of commit- tence or of his own expressive esi- gence. Trained in the school of spontaneity and pure legibility, the artifices for pleasure he enacts almost instinctively obeying that taste for light but contrasted color, rich in moods and sensations, which is proper to his homeland where light cancels or recreates what nothing was before hidden by the alternations of time. He is able to give the image that vague sense of capturing so that each work, even the smallest in size, is always saturated with emotion. The common thread that binds every work by this artist is thus not this or that particular manner of this or that period, but it is the attitude with which he deals with the themes he treats, the enthusiasm he incepts in each of his works whether it is a portrait, a landscape or a still life. He succeeds, however, in redeeming everything from its material consi- stence by recreating it in an emotional drawing and coloristic key, preserving its dignity as a person, object or thing." (Gioacchino Ruocco, Comed Yearbook)

"The sense of reality open to every pos- sible emotional current and to the most secret vibrations of every feeling is the dominant element of every work of Domenico Ron- ca, an artist, sober, shy, devoid of academic experience, but endowed with an innate sense of color and composition. Particularly valuable are his portraits, such as that of Ketty S., where the subject is not only represented in his physiognomic features, but is inter- preted, relived and the physical features are also revealing of the spiritual, psychological and introspective world." (Anna Iozzino, Comed Yearbook)

"The intelligent play of colors, the juxtaposition of masses, and the accurate expressive research are the pillars on which rests the poetics of Domenico Ronca, who has elected nature as the main subject of his works.Compositional wisdom not disjointed "from the proportion of the parts, and dè colors" (F. Baldi- nucci-1681) are the necessary premises for the representation of beauty that the artist in his cosmic afflatus intends to participate in others as a sign of universal communication. He indifferently uses oil or watercolor in the work of pictorial transposition of reality supported always by a strong determination that shines through the confidence, of the stroke and the vigilant sense of space. While not intentionally seeking empathic effect Domenico Ronca succeeds in engaging the viewer by stimulating more often than not positive stances also because it is easy to get in tune with the beautiful naturalness of his canvases."
