Elena Ballarini was born in Milan in 1984
Passion for painting and animals has been an integral part of her life since childhood. After attending the "Liceo Artistico Umberto Boccioni" art school in Milan, she took a three-year specialized course in illustration, which allowed her to refine techniques and specialize in naturalistic illustration.
After her studies, she began working as a wildlife illustrator, creating drawings for books, calendars, didactic cards, explanatory panels and naturalistic publications. She also began to approach the world of Wildlife Art, feeling the need to capture on canvas her passion for nature and the animal world.
In 2011, she was selected by the prestigious Canadian commission "Nature Artists For Conservation (AFC)" to become part of a select group of five hundred naturalistic artists.
She creates her paintings while taking cues from nature and photographic material in order to reproduce remarkably subtle details. Her preferred medium is acrylic on masonite or paper, since they are very smooth surfaces which are ideal for creating highly detailed images . It is precisely this attention to detail that renders her paintings extremely realistic, involving the viewer. Several of her works are in private collections in Italy and abroad. |
